Trauma therapy for women in Florida
If you have lived through trauma, you may already know it does not just stay in the past. It can show up in the way you trust people, the way you react to conflict, the way your body stays tense even when nothing is happening, and the way you second guess yourself long after something hurtful is over, especially when it comes to complex trauma or CPTSD. At Casa Sol Psychology, I help Gen Z and millennial women in Florida work through trauma in a way that feels clear, compassionate, and real. I offer trauma therapy in Coral Gables and through virtual sessions across Florida so you can get support in the way that fits your life.
What trauma can look like
Trauma can come from a lot of places. For some women, it started with parent trauma, emotional abuse, physical abuse, or growing up in a home where love felt conditional or unpredictable. For others, it shows up after intimate partner violence, cheating, betrayal, toxic relationships, or repeated experiences of being hurt by someone who was supposed to be safe. Over time, these kinds of experiences can contribute to complex trauma or CPTSD, especially when the hurt happened again and again or went unrecognized for a long time. Even if you have told yourself it was not “that bad,” your body may still be holding onto the stress, fear, anger, or numbness that came with it.
How therapy can help
Trauma can leave you feeling on alert all the time, like you need to stay ready for the next thing to go wrong. It can also make it hard to rest, trust, say no, feel close to people, or believe that you are actually safe now. In therapy, we will work at a pace that feels manageable while using somatic therapy, DBT, and TIR to help you understand what your nervous system has been carrying and give you tools to move through it instead of staying stuck in it.
A grounded place to heal
You do not need to keep replaying what happened or keep pretending you are fine. Trauma therapy can help you make sense of what you have been through, loosen the hold it has on your present life, and start feeling more like yourself again. If you are looking for trauma therapy in Coral Gables or anywhere in Florida, I invite you to book a free 15 minute intro call and see if working together feels like the right fit.
FAQs
What kinds of trauma do you help with?
I work with childhood trauma, emotional abuse, physical abuse, intimate partner violence, relationship trauma, cheating and betrayal trauma, and sexual trauma.
Do I need a major trauma to come to therapy?
No. If something hurt you and it still affects your relationships, your body, or your peace of mind, it matters. Working on healing "smaller" trauma can still create significant change and relief in your life.
Do you offer virtual therapy in Florida?
Yes. I see clients in person in Coral Gables and virtually across Florida.
What if I do not want to talk about everything right away?
That is completely okay. We can move slowly and focus first on helping you feel safe enough to start.
